Refinishing the Entrance Door – A Thoughtful Final Touch

A Continued Journey of Trust

Last year, I had the pleasure of repainting this two-storey home, both inside and out. Every wall, ceiling, and exterior detail was brought back to life with care and precision. But there was one element the client decided to leave for later: the inside of the front timber door.

  • 'Before' photo of the inside of the entrance door

At the time, they weren’t sure about the colour or the type of finish they wanted. Rather than rush the decision, they chose to wait. Months later, once they had a clear vision, they called me back to complete the work.

🎨 Before

The interior side of the front door showed signs of age and use, with a faded and uneven finish that no longer matched the freshly updated interior.

🛠 During the Work As always, I followed a methodical process:

  • Protected the surrounding area
  • Sanded the timber surface
  • Filled imperfections
  • Applied a quality primer

  • 'Work in progress photo' of the entrance door paint job
  • Photo of the painted inside side of the entrance door
  • Work in progress photo of the entrance door

This ensured excellent paint adhesion and a smooth base for the final coats.

✅ Result

The door now has a renewed presence – clean, rich in tone, and harmonised with the rest of the interior. A subtle but powerful improvement that completes the entrance with elegance.

  • Finished inside of the entrance door
  • Finished outside of the entrance door

💬 Why It Matters

Details like this are what elevate a house from simply "painted" to truly refreshed. It’s not just about applying paint — it’s about understanding when the right time for a job is, and delivering results that respect the client’s timing, taste, and home.
